Grok Bot pricing: why there is no standalone plan

A small conversation-bubble token nestled inside a much larger subscription box of varied tools, with one shared price tag and no separate tag on the bubble, illustrating a bundled rather than standalone product.

By 3Gen editorial team. Checked on xAI’s and Cursor’s own pages.

Short answer: you cannot buy Grok Bot on its own. It comes with a paid plan on The X Subscription, starting with Premium at $30 a month, and with some older Cursor and SuperGrok plans. On The X Subscription, the cheapest way in is Premium.

If you want an always-on agent that is not tied to Cursor or X, OpenAssistant is our recommendation: it has its own email address and phone number, and Starter is free.

What Grok Bot is

Grok Bot is xAI’s agent product. xAI’s docs describe “AI teammates with names, jobs, and context that compounds over time,” each working on “a persistent cloud computer with a browser, filesystem, and terminal.” You message a Bot, give it a task and access to your tools, and it works across apps and websites, asking for approval before things like sending drafts. It runs on macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android (docs.x.ai).

Why there is no standalone price

On October 12, 2026, xAI launched The X Subscription, one plan covering Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor and X Premium (xAI announcement). Cursor’s help page puts it plainly: on The X Subscription, “Grok Bot is one more product on your plan rather than a separate grant” (Cursor help). Grok Bot also draws from the same weekly usage pool as the Grok apps and Cursor, so there is no separate Grok Bot meter to price.

Which plans include Grok Bot

The X Subscription (for new customers)

From x.ai/pricing:

Plan Price Grok Bot Usage pool
Free $0 Not included Limited
Plus $8 a month Not included Basic
Premium $30 a month Included 4x Plus
Super $100 a month Included 15x Plus

xAI’s announcement says Premium includes “the benefits of SuperGrok, Cursor Pro, and X Premium+, previously $90/month combined.”

Older plans that still include it

Per Cursor’s help page, Grok Bot is also included for people on:

On legacy Cursor Enterprise or Grok Enterprise, Cursor says to ask your account team whether Grok Bot can be enabled.

It is not included on SuperGrok Lite, or on Plus or Free on The X Subscription.

xAI says existing SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium subscribers can keep their current plans or switch to The X Subscription. xAI’s and Cursor’s pages do not show current prices for the legacy plans, so we do not list them.

How usage and extra charges work

On The X Subscription:

On legacy Cursor plans and linked accounts:

Free trial: the Grok Bot trial is a usage credit, used up by agent steps and tokens, with a 7-day window. A single long task can use most of it.

What it costs: three scenarios

Scenario 1: one person who wants Grok Bot. Premium: $30 × 12 = $360 a year.

Scenario 2: one heavy user running several Bots daily. Super: $100 × 12 = $1,200 a year, with 15x the Plus pool instead of Premium’s 4x.

Scenario 3: a 5-person team. Premium seats on Teams: 5 × $30 × 12 = $1,800 a year. Teams adds SSO, admin controls, consolidated billing, usage analytics and SOC 2 compliance, per xAI’s announcement.

Assumption: usage stays inside the weekly pool; top-ups and third-party models are extra. The pricing page shows monthly prices only.

Is Grok Bot worth $30 if you only want the agent?

You pay for the bundle either way: Grok chat, Cursor and X Premium features come with it. If you only want an always-on agent and already pay for Cursor or SuperGrok, check whether your current plan already includes Grok Bot before switching. If you don’t use Cursor or X, compare the $30 with other agents’ entry prices on our pricing tracker. OpenAssistant Pro, for example, is $60 per user a month billed yearly.
